Event: Speak to the human 2024

Belonging and connection: How do organisations create meaningful engagement for their people?

6th June 2024 Møller Institute, Cambridge

‘Speak to the human 2024’ will explore the theme of belonging and connection at work.

Teams and organisations thrive when they unite a group of humans around shared purpose and values. We do our best work when we feel connected, engaged, and motivated. When we can be ourselves as well as playing our part in something bigger.  When we belong.

It’s hard to build cohesion in a rapidly changing environment. Organisations are grappling with a range of issues that challenge connection and belonging; remote working, the anticipated impacts of AI, portfolio careers and mercurial Gen Z-ers!

How do you help individuals engage with business strategy? How do you create connections between colleagues, and motivation behind a shared purpose? And how do you foster that sense of belonging that leads the humans in your organisation to feel “this matters to me”?

This years key themes

At Speak to the Human 2024, we’ll be exploring:

  • Why belonging and human connection is fundamental to organisational success.
  • How we develop cultures, communications and stories that foster belonging.
  • What it means to be human as AI advances upon the workplace.
  • How we balance human connection with the benefits of flexible and hybrid working.
  • Why inclusive thinking builds cohesion and improves performance.

And, as ever, we’ll be exploring how to translate these ideas into meaningful strategic and operational practice.
