Acteon scoops six top industry awards for its outstanding work with HC-One
Acteon Communication and Learning won two Golds and one Silver in the Training Journal Awards on 27th November for their work with healthcare provider HC-One. This concludes a remarkable month that has seen Acteon collect six top industry awards, following recent recognition at the Peer Awards and the E-Learning Awards.
Acteon won Gold in the TJ Awards for ‘Best operational training programme’ and ‘Best use of learning technologies’ and Silver for ‘Best change management programme.’

HC-One specialises in Dementia, Nursing, Residential and Specialist Care, with homes throughout the UK. A dynamic new business of 15,000 staff, HC-One was faced with huge challenges of staff development and engagement when it took over a large number of the struggling Southern Cross homes in 2011.
Acteon helped HC-One put an exciting new blended learning programme called Touch at the heart of business transformation. One year after its launch, HC-One people have completed an astonishing 280,000 training courses across a blend of e-learning and face-to-face programmes and staff engagement survey results are soaring.

Reflecting on the remarkable recognition for Touch, HC-One Chairman Dr. Chai Patel says “At HC-One we’ve set ourselves the goal to be the kindest care home operator in the UK. You can't achieve a goal like that without providing the best people with the best skills and values, and the best learning and development. Touch is the platform on which we do that. Touch is our way of saying to colleagues ‘we mean what we say, and we're going to help you achieve a transformation’.”
To be recognised with a Gold for ‘Best operational training programme’ reflects the extent to which Touch is helping HC-One to deliver the kindest care, as HC-One’s Chief Executive, David Spruzen, is delighted to acknowledge:

Acteon, six-time gold E-learning Award winners and finalists on six other occasions, also received two Gold awards at this year’s E-Learning Awards on November 7th, winning the very competitive ‘E-learning Project of the Year’, as well as gold for ‘Best use of e-learning to ensure compliance’. “HC-One does important work – critical work – in caring for the elderly, and it has been a privilege to work along side them in helping to develop their people,” said Matthew Borg, a managing partner at Acteon. “Success has been achieved through a real partnership where we have been able to align our capability in communication and learning with their vision, values and commitment to their people.”
