Cambian aims to be the highest quality provider of specialist behavioural health services for children and adults in the UK. Recently merged with Advanced Childcare, the Cambian Group now employs nearly 7,000 people and provides services for more than 2,400 individuals at around 300 locations.
Working in a people-focused, care based environment, with highly distributed sites and limited technical infrastructure, Cambian needed to create a solution that was more than a series of mandatory e-learning courses. Achieve was developed - a blended learning platform that integrates bespoke e-learning content, off-line learning opportunities and a library of resources. Successful adoption was driven by careful alignment with business needs, engagement with stakeholders and ongoing support and championing.
Winner of an industry award for ‘Best e-learning project securing widespread adoption’, this initiative used a strong visual identity and an integrated communications plan to ensure its success. A focus on stakeholder engagement and learner needs resulted in enthusiastic adoption by Cambian staff.
Blended learning is now an embedded part of working life at Cambian. The adoption of Achieve is demonstrated both by outstanding usage figures and very positive feedback from learners. And, crucially, this enthusiasm is already being translated into clear business benefits for Cambian. Senior leaders have been delighted with the operational impact across the business, as well as the drastic reduction in training costs.
